Google, Youtube to share ad revenues with video uploaders
Published January 30th, 2007 in advertising. Two days ago jenstar (www.jensense.com) posted some stuff about Plans from Google, Youtube to share ad revenues with video uploaders.
Nice piece of writing
- will be very interesting indeed how offline advertisers will react to video-ads potentially getting common on the internet. Maybe we see some serious shift of budgets (finally) towards online.
Most likely payment processing will be a tougher one to figure out - what to do with the lithuanean teenager who does not have a credit card yet…
Moreover I think it might be challenging to make sure ones ad is not bundled with a homeshot-video that makes fun of the very same product - I can just see Coca-Cola Marketing flip when they find themselves bundled with one of the Mentos-Coke-light videos
.

“There are too many contests being launched on YouTube these days for anyone to keep track:
–YouTube Underground (Cingular)
–YouTube-Southwest ad contest
–MyCadillacStory and RealHousewives
…to name a few. CBS also used the site to launch a contest involving the Super Bowl: users could submit 15 minute clips to be included in the channel’s Super Bowl coverage.”
